Block the bad stuff before it loads.
VoltaDNS filters threats, trackers and unsuitable sites on every device, using encrypted DNS we run ourselves.
What it will do
-
Threat blocking
Known malware, phishing and scam domains are blocked using maintained threat-intelligence lists.
-
Ads and trackers
Tracking and telemetry domains are blocked on phones, laptops and smart TVs alike, without an app on each one.
-
Parental controls
Per-profile blocking for adult content, gambling and chosen apps, plus SafeSearch and YouTube's restricted mode.
-
A page that explains
Blocked sites show a VoltaServices page saying what was blocked, with a button to ask for it to be unblocked for an hour, a day or for good.
-
Your own resolver
Lookups are answered by our own recursive resolver with DNSSEC validation, not passed on to a big public DNS provider.
One setting covers every device
Blocking at the DNS lookup stops a bad site before the page starts loading. Each device gets its own profile, so the office laptops, the reception PC and the children's tablets can each have the rules that suit them.
Questions people ask
Do we need to install anything?
Usually not. Most phones, laptops and routers support encrypted DNS directly. For iPhones and Macs we send a profile you tap to install.
What happens when something is blocked?
You see a VoltaServices page explaining what was blocked and why, with a button to ask for it to be unblocked. The request comes to us, or to whoever manages that profile.
How long are logs kept?
Query logs are kept for 30 days so we can investigate problems, then deleted.
Can I get early access?
Yes. Register your interest and we'll be in touch about getting your devices set up.

Want early access?
We're putting together a small group of early users. Tell us about your setup and we'll be in touch when there's a place.
